Meet The Team
We’re a small, friendly team who love what we do. Our goal is to make every class feel welcoming, supportive, and comfortable for everyone.

Founder & Functional Fitness Trainer
Brenda Oxford
Hi, I’m Brenda - founder of BFF Studios and a proud Portland local, born and raised here.
I’m passionate about helping people feel strong, confident, and comfortable in their bodies, no matter their age or where they’re starting from.
After spending several years living in the Northern Territory, where I met my husband, we moved to Portland in 1998 to be closer to family. What was meant to be a short stay soon became permanent and Portland has been home ever since.
I started my training in 1999 and have worked across a range of areas including Pilates, functional fitness, Tai Chi, and training for older adults. After experiencing a back injury in 2002, I developed a strong interest in helping people move safely and rebuild strength and confidence - something that still shapes the way I work today.
BFF Studios, originally Brenda’s Functional Fitness, began as a single weekly class and has grown into the welcoming, community-focused studio it is today.
My goal has always been to create a space where people feel supported, comfortable, and never like just a number.

Reformer Pilates Instructor
Amelia Mahon
Hi, I’m Amelia. I first discovered Reformer Pilates in 2022 and quickly fell in love with it - the challenge, the movement, and the way it made me feel.
After the birth of my son in 2023, I found myself feeling sore, weaker than before, and in need of some “me time.” Coming back to the studio, I slowly rebuilt my strength and started to feel like myself again.
Not long after, I decided to train in Reformer Pilates with Brenda’s support and encouragement. I completed my Mat and Reformer training with Positive Action Pilates and have been teaching at BFF Studios since.
I love creating classes that feel supportive while still giving you a challenge, with space to focus on yourself and leave feeling stronger, more confident, and recharged.

Executive Assistant
Ceri Oxford
Hi, I’m Ceri. I’m the Executive Assistant at BFF Studios, and my connection to the studio goes back long before it officially began - I’m also Brenda’s daughter, so I’ve always been part of the BFF family.
I help keep things running behind the scenes, supporting the day-to-day side of the studio and making sure everything flows as smoothly as possible.
Outside of the studio, I run my own pet sitting and dog walking business, The Nanny Petsitting & Dog Walking, supporting pet owners with care for their animals when needed.
BFF Studios has always felt like a big extended family to me. It’s a space where people support each other and feel comfortable being themselves, and I love being part of that.
